She, the Debutant

by Nora Gomringer

She, the Debutant

50 feet above town

loud in bed

cold at hand

child-in-bed-murderess

wolf in a mink fur coat

created creature, gentle creature

alluring, singing

always with skirts just a bit too short,

aging past her twentieth year

well grafted

soon to be touched up

her clitoris around the neck

of a witch doctor

Mrs. Sweet

Mrs. Sour

Mrs. With-a-name-reminiscent-of-Ikea-racks

She shouldn’t go

nuts

from all of that

from all of those, for whom

I am too clamorous here.
