Serial Poets in Gdańsk

Serial Poets (Seryjni Poeci) is a series of meetings with authors to promote volumes of poetry published by Poznań’s Regional Public Library and Culture Coordination Centre.

Starting from this year, the City Culture Institute will be hosting the Gdańsk meetings as part of the series.

So far the authors invited have included Jakobe Mansztajn and Barbara Klicka, while a meeting with the poets Magdalena Bielska, Wojciech Brzoska and Urszula Honek has been scheduled for June.

The Poznań publishing house has also issued a few volumes by the poets from the Versopolis platform: Łukasz Jarosz (Wolny ogień - Free Fire), Justyna Bargielska (Dwa fiaty - Two Fiats), Krystyna Dąbrowska (Białe krzesła - White Chairs) and Krzysztof Siwczyk (Koncentrat  - Concentrate, Gody - Mating). Selected poems from these volumes are available at www.versopolis.com.

English and German translations of the poems by Jakobe Mansztajn, the first of our guests in the Serial Poets series, are available at www.lyrikline.org, with a selection of ten poems from the author’s debut volume Wiedeński High Life (Vienna High Life) along with English translations (by Marek Kazmierski) and German translations (one by André Rudolph and two by Dagmara Kraus). You can also listen to the author reading his own verse. The English translation of the volume Wiedeński High Life/Vienna High Life has been published by the OFF_Press publishing house.
