In Italian, the word "venti" means both "Twenty" and "winds": as the Genoa International Poetry Festival is at its 20th year, the slogan of this year will be: "Venti di poesia!"
Twenty (years) of poetry to sweep away the clouds of indifference, arrogance, ignorance and wide open words to give comfort to our brains where the helicobacter of apathy are screwing in their walls increasingly soft.
Winds of poetry to find the push to dare, to expand horizons, to weave new international networks, to innovate the cultural strategies, not to be caged by finite minds.
Winds of poetry to contribute to the rebirth of our city and thus of its cultural life, to awaken the intellectual curiosity that led her to discover new worlds in the past and to import and convey new ideas, to bring the world to Genoa and Genoa in the world.
Winds of poetry to defend the power of the word and the sounds, images, impressions and dreams that travel inside it.
Winds of poetry that blow this year from all over the world, with 40 countries represented, more than 100 free events, more than 30 venues, an extraordinary 24-hour marathon of poetry with a whole night by the sea...
Winds of poetry to change perspectives, approaches, to find the taste of dancing idea, to unleash our senses and our wishes.
