All About Translation

The Gdańsk Meetings of Literary Translators Found in Translation is a literary festival, which as the only one in Poland is all about translation. This year we will talk about translating minor languages such as Ukrainian, Hebrew or Hungarian, which seem to be neglected in the mainstream literary market. Our guests are more than welcome to take part in various lectures, discussions or exhibitions run by prominent writers and translators. You will get the chance to meet translators of Wiesław Myśliwski’s works, experience Translators’ duel, see Translators in actions but also get to know our Versopolis guests: Athena Farrokhzad (White Blight translated from Swedish by Jennifer Hayashida), Aurélia Lassaque (A bird-catcher’s paradise, translated from Occitan by James Thomas), Aušra Kaziliūnaitė (invisible metamorphoses, translated from Lithuanian by Rimas Uzgiris), Katja Gorečan (Hana and everything else, translated from Slovenian by Jernej Županič) and Sigbjørn Skåden (making one’s own patent translated from Saami by the author).
